Divine Light

Humans have been searching for God and the truth about the Supreme Being throughout history. Their search has led them to develop many methods of reaching God and philosophies concerning the existence of the Divine.

But what is the truth about God? Has God ever given us light (revelation) concerning Himself? Will death allow us to see the Supreme Being?

These thoughts and desires are best embodied in an ancient Hindu mantra:
     Om Asatoma Sat Gamaya
     Om Tamasoma Jyoti Gamaya
     Om Mrthyoma Amritam Gamaya

Meaning: Lead us from untruth to truth, Lead us from darkness to light, Lead us from death to immortality.

Thus the Quran confirms what the Bible recorded earlier, that Jesus died, and then came back to life as He had predicted.

Greetings to you in the matchless name of the Lord Jesus Christ,

Letter 3 : Know your Purpose in Life?

Dear Precious One in the Sight of God,

Have you ever wondered where you would be after your life on earth? Have you ever wondered where your loved ones might have gone?  Have you ever asked yourself this question: What happens when we all die?. No philosopher has really given mankind an answer to that.  Science relies on observable facts, there are no observable facts about the after life! Do you agree?

Allahu akbar! (Allah is Greater!)

According to Islamic teachings Allah is so great that he cannot be known in a personal way. He cannot reveal himself in human flesh.

The Quran and Bible: Both are monotheistic, but in radically different ways:
*The Bible shows God to be self-revealing and tri-dimensional.
*The Quran reveals one who is unknowable and one-dimensional.

Love and Duty

I have long been curious about something.

Is love mentioned in the Bhagavad Gita? As one born Hindu, I was curious , so I searched for the word ‘love’ through the text. I found references to love for God or bhakti, references to the God of Love (translated from ‘kaam’ – which I believe refers to erotic love). I found a few references to love as ‘moha’ or attachment.

Christmas and the Ultimate Avatar... Is Christ a European God?

What value can a Hindu find in the Christmas story?

Hinduism has for ages held the belief in the concept of Avatar - the fact that God incarnates himself (God revealing himself in material form). For example Krishna says in Bhagavad Gita "Whenever and wherever there is a decline in religious practice, O descendant of Bharata, and a predominant rise of irreligion - at that time I descend myself." (Bhagavad-Gita: As It Is 4:7).

This belief of the unrevealed God taking on a nature that reveals his personality in the material world is carried further in the concepts of Nirguna Brahman and Saguna Brahman.

Deepavali for the Christ Bhakta (Follower of Christ)

"The festival of Deepavali (a row of lights) is a beautiful and dazzling time of fun and religious observance. It is the celebration of the victory of light over darkness and good over evil.

To different people this ancient festival has taken on different meanings: To some it is the celebration of Krishna's victory over the demon Narakasura. To others it’s a time when special favour can be gained from Laxmi, the goddess of good fortune, as they welcome her into their homes with a row of lamps and Laxmi puja (prayer). Most people, however, see the festival as a yearly reminder of the return of Rama to Ayodhya after a 14-year exile and his defeat of the demon Ravana. In Bengal goddess Durga or Kali is worshipped. Even Jains find special significance in the festival as they remember the attaining of Nirvana (eternal bliss) by Mahaveera."
